Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup frozen peas

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until it reaches al dente tenderness, usually about 8-10 minutes.

      - For the last 2 minutes of the cooking process, add the frozen peas to the pot to thaw and heat through.

        - Once done, carefully drain the pasta and peas, making sure to reserve about ½ cup of the pasta water for later use. Set aside.

          Prepare the Chicken:

            - While the pasta is boiling, take the chicken breasts and generously season both sides with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning to enhance the flavor.

              Sauté the Chicken:

                - Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet.

                  - Cook for approximately 5-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is golden brown and no longer pink in the center (an internal temperature of 165°F).

                    - After cooking, transfer the chicken to a cutting board and allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips for serving.

                      Make the Alfredo Sauce:

                        - In the same skillet where the chicken was cooked, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until it becomes fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

                          - Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, allowing it to come to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it fully melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

                            - If the sauce appears too thick, gradually incorporate some of the reserved pasta water until reaching your desired consistency.

                              Combine Ingredients:

                                - Add the drained pasta and peas directly into the Alfredo sauce, tossing everything gently to ensure even coating.

                                  - Nestle the sliced chicken on top of the pasta and toss lightly to combine all ingredients harmoniously.

                                    Serve and Garnish:

                                      - To serve, plate generous portions of the creamy chicken Alfredo and finish with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

                                        - Enjoy your delightful and creamy Chicken Alfredo pasta, perfect for a comforting meal!
