Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, freshly grated

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

2 green onions, chopped, for garnish

1 cup cooked jasmine rice (or rice of your choice)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly to ensure the beef is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes, which will enhance its flavor while you prepare the other ingredients.

Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for about 2-3 minutes, until they turn bright green and are slightly tender yet still crisp. Drain the broccoli in a colander and set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches to prevent overcrowding. Sear the beef for about 2-3 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and transfer to a plate.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds or until fragrant. Be careful not to let them burn.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet along with the blanched broccoli. Stir-fry the mixture for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing all the flavors to meld together.

Adjust Sauce Consistency: In a small bowl, mix the water and red pepper flakes (if using), then pour the mixture into the skillet. Continue to cook for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally, until the sauce becomes slightly thickened.

Serve: Carefully spoon the savory beef and broccoli mixture over a bed of warm, cooked jasmine rice. Finish by garnishing with chopped green onions for a fresh, crunchy touch.

Enjoy: Serve immediately while hot, and savor your delicious Savory Beef & Broccoli Bliss Bowl!
