Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)

2 cups beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cream of mushroom soup (store-bought or homemade)

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Brown the Ground Beef: Raise the heat to medium-high. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, approximately 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat for a healthier dish.

Combine the Ingredients: Lower the heat to medium, then stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, soy sauce, and broccoli florets. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil, then transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Add Cheese and Finish Baking: Carefully remove the skillet from the oven and uncover it. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole. Return the skillet to the oven (now uncovered) and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked to perfection, take the skillet out of the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Just before serving, sprinkle generously with freshly chopped parsley to add color and freshness.
