Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

8 oz egg noodles

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, freshly grated

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced into strips

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Noodles: Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the egg noodles and cook them according to the package instructions until they reach an al dente texture. Once done, drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Stir until the brown sugar fully dissolves into the mixture. Once blended, set this sauce aside for later use.

Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, add the ground beef. Cook the beef for about 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until it is fully browned. If there is any excess fat, carefully drain it from the skillet.

Add Aromatics and Vegetables: With the beef still cooking, add in the minced garlic, freshly grated ginger, thinly sliced onion, and bell pepper strips. Sauté the mixture for approximately 3 to 4 minutes, or until the vegetables have softened and the aroma becomes delightful.

Combine with Noodles and Sauce: Add the reserved cooked egg noodles to the skillet along with the prepared sauce. Gently toss the ingredients together for about 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring that all the noodles are well-coated in the flavorful sauce and heated through.

Season to Taste: Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning with salt and freshly cracked black pepper according to your preference.

Serve and Garnish: Once everything is well combined and flavorful, divide the Mongolian ground beef noodles among serving plates. For a finishing touch, garnish each plate with chopped green onions and a light sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving.
