Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands!)

1 lb (450g) ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option)

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped

1 cup ketchup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp mustard

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to preheat at 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.

    Prepare the Biscuit Cups:

      - Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and carefully separate each biscuit.

        - Lightly roll each biscuit out to flatten it just a bit while keeping its thickness uniform.

          - Grease a muffin tin well, then gently press each biscuit into the molds to create little cups, ensuring the walls are thick enough to contain the filling.

            Cook the Sloppy Joe Filling:

              - In a large skillet set over medium heat, add the ground beef (or turkey). Cook until the meat is fully browned, using a spatula to break it up as it cooks.

                - Once browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet. Add the finely chopped onion and green bell pepper, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes, until they become tender and fragrant.

                  Make the Sauce:

                    - Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine all the flavors. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes, heating through and letting the sauce thicken slightly.

                      Assemble the Biscuit Cups:

                        - After removing the skillet from heat, evenly spoon the flavorful sloppy joe mixture into each biscuit cup until generously filled.

                          - Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each filled cup to enhance the flavor and richness.

                            Bake:

                              - Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges of the biscuit are golden brown and the cheese has melted beautifully.

                                Serve:

                                  - Once baked, allow the biscuit cups to cool slightly in the muffin tin. Carefully remove them and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

                                    Enjoy:
