Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (contains 8 biscuits)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional: Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Cook the Turkey: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the ground turkey. Season it with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook the turkey for about 7-10 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until it's fully cooked and no longer pink.

Add BBQ Sauce: Pour the barbecue sauce into the skillet with the turkey. Stir well to coat all the turkey evenly. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly. Once done, remove the skillet from the heat.

Prepare the Biscuits: Carefully open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough. Separate the biscuits and gently flatten each one using your hands or a rolling pin. Aim for a slightly larger base to hold the filling better.

Assemble the Melts: On each flattened biscuit, place about a tablespoon of the BBQ turkey mixture in the center. Top with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. Fold the biscuit over to create a pocket, then pinch the edges firmly to seal it.

Bake: Arrange the filled biscuits on the lined baking sheet, ensuring they have some space between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and fully cooked.

Serve: Once baked, remove the melts from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. If desired, garnish with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color. Enjoy your warm and mouthwatering mini BBQ turkey biscuit melts!
