Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 green onions, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

6-8 bamboo skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes if using wooden)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, gochujang, rice vinegar, and chopped green onions. Stir well until the brown sugar is fully dissolved, and the marinade is well combined.

Prepare the Meat: Introduce the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring that each piece is thoroughly coated in the flavorful mixture. Once coated, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, allowing the beef to marinate; for a deeper flavor, let it marinate overnight.

Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, wait until the coals are glowing red and hot to ensure even cooking.

Assemble Skewers: Remove the marinated beef from the refrigerator. Take the soaked bamboo skewers and carefully thread the marinated beef pieces onto each skewer, leaving small gaps between the pieces to allow for even cooking and proper grilling.

Grill the Skewers: Place the threaded skewers onto the preheated grill. Grill for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side. Continue cooking until the beef is beautifully charred and reaches your desired level of doneness.

Garnish and Serve: Once the skewers are cooked to perfection, carefully remove them from the grill. Sprinkle sesame seeds and additional finely chopped green onions over the skewers for a delightful garnish. Serve immediately with fluffy rice, crispy lettuce leaves for wrapping, and a selection of your favorite dipping sauces to complement the dish.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes | Servings: 4

Presentation Tips: Arrange the skewers on a large platter, garnished with extra green onions and sesame seeds, and serve alongside small bowls of dipping sauce to create an appealing spread.
