Ingredients

1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

8 oz (225g) pasta (fettuccine or linguine is recommended for this dish)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your preferred spice level)

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth

1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until it reaches an al dente texture—firm to the bite. Before draining, reserve 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water for later. Drain the pasta and set it aside in a colander.

Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until melted and bubbly. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the skillet, season generously with salt and black pepper, and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through.

Add Aromatics: Once the chicken is done, push it to one side of the skillet. On the empty side, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring frequently until the garlic becomes fragrant but be careful not to burn it.

Combine and Simmer: Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir the cooked chicken back into the skillet, then reduce the heat to low. Add the heavy cream, fresh lemon juice, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the sauce is well blended and creamy.

Toss with Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, mixing it thoroughly with the chicken and sauce. If the sauce appears too thick, gradually stir in the reserved pasta water until you achieve your desired creamy consistency.

Garnish and Serve: Once well combined, remove from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately with extra grated Parmesan cheese on the side for those who want an extra cheesy touch.

              Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                - Presentation Tips: For a beautiful presentation, serve the pasta in shallow bowls or plates, ensuring that the chicken bites are prominently displayed. Add a sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper and a light drizzle of olive oil just before serving for an elegant touch. Enjoy your delightful meal!
