Ingredients

8 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it with cooking spray or a thin layer of butter to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Biscuits: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and use a sharp knife or kitchen scissors to cut each biscuit into quarters. In a mixing bowl, combine the biscuit pieces with the melted butter, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss gently until the biscuits are well-coated. Evenly distribute the biscuit pieces in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing them down lightly for an even base.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, crack all 8 eggs and whisk them vigorously until combined. Pour in the whole milk, and sprinkle in the salt and black pepper. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth, light, and slightly frothy.

Scramble the Eggs: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and gently stir with a spatula, allowing the eggs to cook slowly. Scramble until the eggs are just set but still soft and creamy (they will continue to firm up in the oven). Remove the skillet from heat.

Combine: Fold the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives (if using) into the scrambled eggs, allowing the cheese to melt into the warm mixture. Carefully pour the cheesy egg combination over the biscuit pieces in the baking dish, spreading it evenly to cover all the biscuits.

Top and Bake: Generously sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the egg and biscuit mixture for a cheesy crust. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden, fully cooked, and the egg mixture is set all the way through.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes. Slice into squares and serve warm. For an extra touch, garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving, if desired.
