Ingredients

1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs (approximately 15 whole cookies)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

10 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped (for topping)

Optional: 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (for drizzling, if desired)

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are thoroughly coated and have a texture similar to wet sand. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of an 8x8 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper. Set aside to create a solid base.

Make the Fudge Mixture: In a medium saucepan, over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously to prevent sticking, until the chocolate chips are fully melted and the mixture is smooth and well-blended.

Incorporate Chopped Oreos: Remove the fudge mixture from the heat and carefully fold in the coarsely chopped Oreo cookies, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the fudge mixture.

Combine Layers: Pour the luscious fudge mixture over the prepared Oreo crust. Using a spatula, spread it evenly to create a smooth top layer.

Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and let the fudge squares chill for a minimum of 2 hours or until the fudge is fully set and firm to the touch.

Optional Drizzle: For an added touch of sweetness, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl using 15-second intervals. Stir well after each interval until completely smooth. Once melted, use a fork or spoon to drizzle the white chocolate over the top of the fudge.

Cut and Serve: After the fudge has set, lift it out of the baking pan using the edges of the parchment paper. Cut into 16 squares for serving. These squares can be enjoyed chilled or at room temperature.

Presentation Tips: Arrange the fudge squares on a decorative plate, and consider garnishing with additional crushed Oreos or a sprinkle of sea salt for a gourmet touch. Serve with a glass of cold milk for an extra indulgent treat!
