2 ripe avocados, pitted and peeled

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (approximately 1 lime)

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or nutritional yeast for a vegan alternative)

2-3 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Zest of 1 lime

Optional: 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)

Optional: Crushed red pepper flakes (for added spice)
