1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 lemon, zested and juiced

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

Prep the Ingredients: Start by preparing your ingredients. Peel and devein the shrimp, ensuring they're clean and ready to cook. Trim the ends off the asparagus and cut it into 2-inch segments. Zest the lemon to gather the bright flavor, then cut it in half to juice it later. Set all these components aside in separate bowls.

    Heat the Pan: In a large, non-stick skillet, pour in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat it over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and the red pepper flakes (if desired). Sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

      Add the Asparagus: Add the prepared asparagus pieces to the skillet. Stir-fry the asparagus for approximately 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender, while still maintaining a firm texture. Once done, transfer the asparagus to a plate and set aside.

        Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Carefully place the shrimp in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink.
